"The Road to Egypt's Revolution" and "The Revolution Will Continue"

  1. "Optimism is a national and revolutionary duty," writes Professor Elsadda. How true for the women and men of Egypt, but also for all people engaged in changing their communities for the better. I'd like to think that the United States is still undergoing a revolution in pursuit of its first principles of equality; and when I see a politician win a primary in South Carolina largely because he "told the truth" about African American citizens, I know that our revolution has not yet realized its potential. So I agree: even in the face of dismaying realities, optimism is our national and revolutionary duty. . .Egypt and the USA, women and men.
